Stitch
out the required number of pieces for the
doily –
normally 8 side pieces and one centre piece as you would for any free
standing
lace design.
Do
not remove water soluble
stabiliser until after
you have
sewn up the doily.
Stitch
together using a zigzag
stitch on your
sewing
machine, making sure the satin stitch edging is touching not
overlapping.

Stitch
together the 8 side pieces.
I found it easier to leave
the last seam
unstitched.
Take
the centre piece and
carefully position and
then stitch
in place.

Finally
stitch up the remaining
side seam.

You
then have a finished doily.

Soak
to remove the water soluble
stabiliser and
leave to
dry.
Press on reverse if necessary.
