This is how my friend first told me how to embroider on soap when I first started embroidery
Requirements:
Bar of soap (try to find bar that is as flat as possible) Water Soluble Stabiliser such as Solvy or Badgemaster PVA craft glue diluted with water - which dries clear Net (like bridal veil) or similar
Method:
1. Choose design to be stitched
2. Cut 2 pieces of water soluble stabiliser to fit the hoop you intend to use
3. Cut net same size as the water soluble stabiliser
4. Sandwich net in between pieces of stabiliser and hoop up the sandwich
5. Stitch design out and then cut away excess net/stabiliser to fit shape of soap bar leaving a little border of net round the edge of design
6. Wash away stabiliser
7. With design and net still wet - gently press into bar of soap, it’s best if you hold soap in your hand in a towel
8. While design is still wet - apply coat of diluted PVA glue - allow each coat to be absorbed a little before applying the next. Apply 3 - 5 coats of glue
9. Wait for it to dry - this can take several hours.
