Just look at those bags! One for each letter of the alphabet. This project took me a week to do which included making the bags as well as embroidering/appliqueing the letters, and on both sides of the bags in most cases!
I was asked by my youngest’s teacher if I could make some drawstring bags for his class as they are 5 year olds who have just started school and she wanted them as a learning aid. She intends to put something inside the bag beginning with the letter and they have to feel and guess what it is.
The bags are about 10x12” to give you and idea on size and although it is hard to see in the photo, the fabrics have been matched to the letters e.g. F = fur fabric, U for umbrella. Trying to match the fabrics was quite some challenge.
At the time I was already working on the capital letters so I had to digitise the lower case letters and have decided to put the stitch files up for sale in the format you see above as there may be others out there who would find the files useful for a similar educational project. Bag pattern is not included.
The pairs of letters Aa, Bb etc require a 5x7” hoop and the capital letters are just under 4” tall.
To view the individual sets of letters please click here for the capital letters and here for the lower case letters.
